As we age, it’s normal to lose the plump, youthful skin we once had and begin to notice fine lines and wrinkles. Fine lines and wrinkles can be more visible for some, depending on age, genetics, skin type, and lifestyle factors. If you want to reduce the look of your wrinkles, there are various ways to smooth them with cosmetic treatments that yield incredible results.
At CARE Esthetics, we are pleased to offer services like Botox, Microneedling, Alma Hybrid, and Opus Plasma to ease the look of aging skin and reclaim the fresh, taut skin you desire.
Stretch marks, also known as striae, are a type of scar that occurs when the skin stretches rapidly. This quick stretching damages the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, hence their name, “stretch” marks.
The appearance can vary depending on the individual’s skin type and the severity, location, and age of the stretch marks. New ones are often red or purple, while older ones are silvery or white. They can also be indented or raised.
People suffer from hair loss or thinning hair for various reasons, including stress, hormonal fluctuations, genetics, natural aging, or even accidents. Illnesses and vitamin and nutrient deficiencies can also contribute to hair loss.
In men, male pattern baldness, known as androgenetic alopecia, results from genetics or a family history of baldness. While most people assume only men seek hair loss treatments, many women struggle with hair loss too. Although women do not typically go completely bald, they can experience thinning, brittle hair that breaks easily and sheds more than usual.
The main reason why loose skin occurs is due to a loss of skin elasticity. Skin elasticity refers to the ability of the skin to stretch and then return to its original shape. Young, healthy skin contains a lot of elastin and collagen fibers, giving way to good elasticity levels. However, as we age or undergo changes in our body, such as rapid weight loss, pregnancy, or hormonal changes, these fibers become damaged, and the skin can lose elasticity.
In the case of rapid weight gain and loss, for example, the skin may not be able to shrink to a new size, resulting in excess or loose skin. In addition, when we lose weight, some of the underlying fat helps keep the skin stretched and taut diminishes, and the skin has little structural padding to keep it firm. Other factors contributing to skin elasticity loss include genetics, sun damage, smoking, and poor nutrition. These factors can damage the collagen and elastin fibers in the skin, making them less firm and elastic over time.
A double chin is an excess layer of fatty tissue under the lower jaw. Both men and women can experience a double chin, and it can happen at almost any age. Medically speaking, a double is called “submental fullness” or “submental liposis.”
Younger people may have a double chin with tight skin, while older people may have a double chin along with loose skin in the neck area. Despite someone’s weight, a double chin can be a source of frustration for people of all ages.
Simply put, cellulite is the buildup of fat underneath the skin. However, it is a little more complex because the exact mechanism of cellulite is not known. Cellulite is believed to occur when fat tissue connects with other tissue in a way that causes dimpling of the skin. This occurs below the epidermis in the dermis and fibrous septae, located above subcutaneous fat.
This means cellulite is not actually fat. It has more to do with how the collagen fibers between the skin and muscle separate the subcutaneous fat tissue into pockets. During the aging process since skin becomes thinner and loses elasticity, the rippled connective tissues become more noticeable over time.

As a holistic dentist, Dr. David believes strongly in using treatments to help facilitate the body’s ability to heal itself wherever possible. Many of the techniques and technologies being used at Care Esthetics of Bolton hold true to this philosophy.
Over the past two decades, Dr. David’s patients have sought her cosmetic expertise to improve their smiles and she has worked with her patients to produce stunning results (link to smile gallery). Frequently, upon successful completion of a large cosmetic case, many of her patients wanted to rejuvenate the rest of their face to match their new smile and would ask her to recommend skin rejuvenation treatments for their face. Care Esthetics of Bolton was founded to fulfill this need!
Dr. David has focused her attention on incorporating wrinkle relaxers into the practice. Wrinkle relaxers are cosmetic treatments that reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. These treatments typically involve the injection of botulinum toxin type A, such as Botox, Dysport, or Xeomin. These treatments block nerve signals to the targeted muscles, preventing muscle contractions that cause wrinkles. This leads to a smoother and more youthful appearance. She received her training from the American Academy of Facial Aesthetics in Dermal fillers and Botox.
With all of the facial aesthetics treatments incorporated into the practice, Dr. David ensures that she knows exactly what her patients are feeling by undergoing the same treatment herself!
Dr. David is a graduate of both the prestigious Dawson Center for Aesthetics and the Spear Institute of Advanced Dental Education, where she has participated as a member of the faculty and spends several weeks a year working with dentists from around the country. She has a specific interest in changing lives through her thorough understanding of cosmetic dentistry and works with many patients to provide them with the smile they have always wanted. Dr. David continues to serve as an advisor to other local dentists on specific cosmetic cases and receives referrals from colleagues. Additionally, she participates in several local study groups with colleagues to collectively share ideas and approaches to challenging cases.
Some aesthetic cases do not need to be sent to the lab and can be done the same day with one of the two Cerec machines we have in the practice. Since Dr. David deploys this technology in her office, she ensures that she and her team provide the best in clinical excellence through CDOCs, where she interacts with like-minded dentists from around the country to discuss techniques in digital dentistry. She and her staff continue to participate in formal Cerec hands-on training to ensure the best outcomes for their patients.
